Aging pets and pups often have to be given a diaper to prevent accidents from happening, before you house train them. Of course, not all diapers are all that great, and you might find that your dog doesn’t enjoy some brands. They might try to bite or claw off the diaper if it’s uncomfortable, and they might even develop rashes or skin conditions as a result of long term irritation.

One of the main thing to consider is whether or not the brand you are looking at actually has the right size diaper for your pup. As dog breeds differ, and puppies tend to grow fast, you’ll want to find a brand of dog diapers that can provide a typically close range of sizes, so you don’t have to worry about your pup feeling uncomfortable after growing out of one size and before growing into the next.

To find the right brand, it’s important to do some market research. Look up the most popular brands online, and narrow down your search to only the ones that offer diapers for puppies. Then check to see if there are any complaints about their products and which ones might apply to your pet – for instance, if your puppy has sensitive skin, you’ll want to pay close attention to reviews that speak of certain brands causing irritation more easily than others.

Then, through comparison, and by also comparing prices, you can easily find and test a few of the diaper brands that might seem best for your pet.
The post Find the Appropriate Brand of Puppy Diapers for Your Fur Baby first appeared on Planet Urine.

It’s great to have your dog stay indoors and keep you company, and it can be good for your pet’s health to do so as well. However, to make sure your dog doesn’t pee inside the house, it’s a good idea to take a few measures for appropriate training. Fortunately, dogs are some of the house pets that are most open to training, so integrating these measures shouldn’t be a problem over the long haul:

Establish a designated spot outside where you will want your dog to pee without affecting your lawn or garden.

Create a routine. For instance, a certain amount of time after a meal, you can take your dog outside to do his business.

Insist on reward-based training. When your dog does something you want from them – such as urinating at the right time and in the right place – reward them with a treat.

Of course, not all dogs are the same, and with age and sickness, the most typical measures of house training will not work anymore. If your canine companion has issues with moving around, and has lost some motor skills over the years, make sure you keep him mostly close to a viable exit, so he can go out and pee quickly when he needs to. For aging pets, you can also consider dog diapers as an added measure.
The post 3 Helpful Solutions to Stop Your Dog from Peeing in the House first appeared on Planet Urine.

The presence of dog urine often becomes a lingering threat as soon as you get your first pet. Dogs need to be taken outside to pee, and it’s not uncommon for puppies or older dogs to lose control while still inside the house. However, aside from dog urine stains being unsightly and smelling bad, they can also be quite hazardous to humans.

One of the dangers of dog urine is the presence of ammonia. Ammonia is a substance that can easily cause respiratory problems, even if inhaled in smaller quantities. In larger quantities, it can cause your airways and lungs to feel like they’re burning, and it can also become the source of some serious respiratory diseases. These may include bronchitis, pneumonia and even nasopharyngeal cancer or alveolar edema.

Another hazard associated with pet urine, and dog urine specifically, is Leptospirosis – a pretty common, but also quite dangerous bacterial disease that is commonly contracted and passed on by rats and dogs, as well as many species of wild animals. If humans are exposed to the bacteria, they may experience flu like symptoms for a while, but severe cases can also lead to live and kidney disease.

It is recommended that you remove dog urine as soon as possible from your home, preferably using protection gloves and a potent enzyme based cleaning agent. Another idea for dogs that are prone to urinating indoors, is to start using dog diapers on them. Children are especially sensitive to the aforementioned stressors, so make sure you pay extra care if you’re a parent. Dog diapers can be changed and discarded without the mess of cleanup.
The post Can Your Dog’s Urine Really Be Harmful for Humans? first appeared on Planet Urine.

The stress of incontinence can hit hard when you remember your past of running and playing carefree with your human friend. This is one of the many reasons why elderly dogs might feel a lot less capable to face disease and old age than they might otherwise be.

Using dog diapers can help a lot. Aside from ensuring that your canine companion no longer has to face the stress of having to find a place to go to the bathroom at short notice, it will also ease their emotions and help them find dignity in old age. Additionally, not only will your dog feel a lot more comfortable being around you and feel less guilty about losing control, but your own stress levels will be lowered, as you won’t have to track down puddles and clean rugs every day. Your dog, who is highly attuned to the human emotions of her master, will be much more likely to feel at ease as a result.

When it comes to the health of your dog, the same relationship between health and positive emotions exists as in the case of humans. So, it’s a natural consequence that the better mood, lower stress levels and better communion with you that your canine companion might feel will be a key component in helping her live longer during her old age.
The post Why Do Older Dogs Live Longer with Dog Diapers? first appeared on Planet Urine.

As dogs get older, owners begin to notice physical and behavioral changes that they need to consider if they want their furry companions to enjoy a good quality of life. There are simple ways to do this, such as paying more attention to their physical activity and nutrition.

It can be useful to install a ramp, if the dog has difficulty climbing stairs, or buy a carpet if it is difficult for them to maintain their balance on wooden or tiled floors. Swimming is an excellent activity for elderly dogs with joint problems.

As dogs become older, their sense of smell and taste lose their intensity; you must make sure that no food or toxic substances remain within the dog`s reach, to avoid any problems.

According to dog diapers distributors, periodic medical examinations are the best ways to keep track of the diseases associated with aging and provide your dog the best possible care.

Mental comfort is the most important thing an elderly quadruped needs. Your patience, affection and support are what will make old age a beautiful stage of life and not one to be feared of. An informed dog owner can cope more easily with changes that occur in the animal`s lifestyle, as they age.
The post How to Make Life Easier for Elderly Dogs first appeared on Planet Urine.

Getting a puppy during the pandemic is a great thing – a new, four-legged family member can bring lots of joy to everyone in your household. However, a puppy also requires attention, energy and will teach everyone in your family a thing or two about discipline and order. Here are a few things to have in mind before getting a puppy:

Pick a puppy that will grow into a dog of the right size – if you live in an apartment without direct access to some green space, keeping a large dog might raise lots of difficulties, so make sure that the size of the breed that you choose is suitable for your quadruple friend;

Think about who will take care of your puppy – puppies need almost round the clock supervision, at least for a couple of months, so you need everyone in your family to get involved in house training the puppy and in teaching the doggy some rules. Also determine who will walk and feed the puppy and get everyone’s consent; You will probably want to keep a powerful out urine dry carpet powder cleaner from Planet Urine on hand for the puppy accident clean ups that most likely will happen during the training process.

Learn about how to keep your pet healthy before getting your puppy – dogs need multiple vaccines up to a certain age, yearly shots when they are adults and other issues might also require you to take your pet to a vet, all of which cost money. High-quality dog food is not cheap either, so make sure that you can afford all those expenses.

Most dog parents love to talk about their pups. We discuss their latest tricks, how cute they look when they sleep, and that adorable thing they did this morning to try and stop you from leaving the house.

What we don’t often talk about to our friends is their potty training. Nobody really wants to discuss poop over coffee, but it’s an important part of any dog’s training. Not just puppies, either – you may find yourself with an adult dog who needs to be potty trained.

Learning how to do it right can save you plenty of frustration. If you’re potty training your dog, here’s how.

Puppy Potty Training

House training your puppy might seem like a mammoth task, but they learn very quickly if you do it the right way! You should start working on house training at around 12 weeks of age.

Create A Schedule

You may be surprised to learn that dogs are creatures of habit. If you start them off with a routine from an early age, it’s likely to stick.

Begin with regular feeding times, scheduled playtime, and naps. Take them outside immediately after every one of these activities, to the same spot every time.

Pick A Potty Spot

Choose a particular potty spot not too far from the door and take your pup there every time. He’ll soon begin to associate the spot with doing his thing.

If your puppy has to spend a lot of time alone indoors, create a “puppy pad spot” as well as an outdoor spot. It’s a good idea to use a small crate for this purpose.

Reward & Reinforce

Once your puppy has finished his business (and only once he’s fully done) reward him with a treat or plenty of love, or both.

Adult Dog Potty Training

Dogs are naturally clean animals. They don’t want to be living in a poop and urine-soaked house any more than you do!

If you find yourself with a completely untrained adult dog, follow the same procedure as you would for a puppy.

Adults can be a little more complicated. They may be going in the house due to separation anxiety, marking territory, or because there’s urine you can’t see and they think it’s their potty spot.

Tips & Tricks

Puppies can hold it in for one hour per month of age – ie. a 6-month old pup can hold it for about 6 hours.

Pick up the water bowl an hour or two before bed.

Don’t leave food out in between meals.

Supervise your puppy indoors whenever you can.

Signs that your pup needs to go include door scratching, restlessness, sniffing around, and “circling”.

Conclusion

Potty training your dog doesn’t have to be difficult or complicated! Do it the right way, and they’ll learn quicker than you think. Be patient – it can take 4 to 6 months. If you really struggle, you could get some professional help.

Just be sure to give positive reinforcement, and whatever you do with your dog, do it with love, treats, and cuddles!

Pet diapers can be very useful because they can prevent stains on the carpet and other surfaces, but also unwanted mating. However, if used incorrectly, they can cause more problems than they solve.

When to use pet diapers

When it comes to pet diapers, you must understand that they are not an alternative to potty or litter box training. Unless your vet says otherwise, they are intended for short-term use only.

Small puppies may need diapers, until they are taught to relieve nature properly. Diapers can also be used for animals suffering from incontinence – a medical problem that makes bladder control impossible. Common causes of incontinence are old age, physical abnormalities or hormonal problems.

There are other short-term situations in which using diapers is appropriate:

When you go with your pet to a friend’s house

When you travel by plane

When the animal is in the recovery period after surgery

The surface layer of the diapers dries in just a few minutes, absorbing odors. Quality pet diapers are made of material that is almost impossible to be torn.

These diapers are designed for animal anatomy, to ensure a proper fit
The post Why Your Pets, and Not Just Babies, Can Benefit from Diapers first appeared on Planet Urine.

Whether you have a small pup that’s just learning the ropes when it comes to such matters as potty training, or your veteran pooch has a lot of trouble with incontinence, a dependable set of pet diapers can definitely make things better for your canine companions.

Dog diapers are special diapers used for dogs, and depending on the size of your dog as well as their habits, you might find them crucially helpful when it comes to keeping your pooch’s habits in check.

Not just young or old dogs are able to benefit from using a diaper. If you plan to leave the house for an extended period, or you’re not sure if you will get home in time to take your dog out, then putting a diaper on them before you leave can also serve to help them feel more comfortable and to help you avoid the hassle of cleaning pet urine later on.

For female dogs in heat, wearing protective female dog diapers will help to keep the house cleaner as she finds her way around your furniture and other items. Also, it can help prevent the constant licking action that she might engage in.

Finally, in the case of small pups, a pet diaper can actually serve as a training tool. You can use it while potty training the pup and avoid having to clean up pet urine in case an accident occurs during the practice sessions.
The post How Can Your Dog Benefit from a Good Pet Diaper? first appeared on Planet Urine.

We all love our pets. However, dealing with pet urine accidents is one of those things that usually doesn’t mix well with most homeowners’ love for cleanliness and running a tidy home. Getting rid of pet urine accidents is, therefore, on most people’s list as soon as they start happening.

One of the ways to eliminate pet urine accidents is to potty train your pet. Now, for some pets this works more easily than others, since they have a natural inclination towards staying clean. Kittens might have occasional accidents when they first learn to use the litter box, and puppies can have them too, when they play too much and don’t yet know how to ask their owners to go outside.

The worst problems arise when senior pets reach a certain age where they no longer have full control over their bladders. In such cases, it’s usually best to use a pet diaper, rather than any other type of means to control the situation. This issue can happen even in the case of the most intelligent and well-trained dogs, so don’t hold it against your pet. It’s simply biology doing its thing.

Fortunately, a huge variety of disposable pet diapers are available these days at a relatively low cost, so you don’t have to worry too much about how to deal with the problem once it arises.
The post How to Get Rid of Pet Urine Accidents – A Short Guide for Unique Cases first appeared on Planet Urine.
